How to Start Recording a Drive
Hawk records your drives into a continuous rolling buffer. Tap Start Dashcam to begin — the screen can stay off, and you can lock evidence at any moment.

Step-by-step
Open the Drive tab
Tap the Drive icon at the bottom of the screen to open Hawk's main recording screen.
Tap "Start Dashcam"
Tap the green Start Dashcam button. Hawk begins recording into a continuous rolling buffer immediately — no settings needed.
Drive normally
Hawk records in the background. The screen can stay off — recording is unaffected and battery impact is minimal.
Stop recording when you arrive
Tap Stop Dashcam on the Drive screen. If an incident happened, save the clip before stopping.

Does recording stop if my screen turns off?
