How to Enable Auto-Start Recording
Auto-Start detects when you begin driving — via Bluetooth or motion — and starts the dashcam automatically. No need to open Hawk every time you get in the car. Requires Local Pro or Rideshare Pro.
Step-by-step
Open Settings
Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen.
Toggle on "Auto-Start When Driving"
Scroll to the Local Pro Features section and turn on Auto-Start When Driving. Free plan users will see the upgrade screen.
Pair your car Bluetooth (recommended)
Ensure your car Bluetooth is paired in iPhone Settings → Bluetooth. Hawk starts recording as soon as your phone connects.
Get in the car
Hawk starts the dashcam automatically when it detects the Bluetooth connection or driving motion. You will see a brief notification.
