The Space Behind the Event
Last month, a photographer booked our studio in Shoreditch for exactly two hours. She needed natural light, white walls, and a floor that wouldn't creak in her footage. Three weeks before that, an entrepreneur hired a meeting room in Manchester to pitch to investors. Neither had time to call around or wait for email replies. Both found their space on Findr, confirmed the booking, and moved on with their work.
The Problem We Actually Solve
Event organisers and creatives don't need another booking platform. They need a place where they can walk in, see exactly what they're getting, and book it without friction. That's what Findr does.
When we started MRVL Technologies, we noticed something: people would spend hours hunting for studio space, meeting rooms, and event venues online. They'd find a listing on one site, check another, phone a third. Half the time, the space was already taken or the host wouldn't reply for days. The other half, they'd show up and discover the "bright studio" was actually a basement with a window.
We built Findr to collapse that distance. Renters can browse for free, see actual photos and host reviews, and send a booking request in minutes. Hosts get a proper verification process through Stripe and our approval, so everyone knows they're dealing with real people in real spaces. No scams, no surprises.
Why Browsing Free Matters More Than You'd Think
Here's the thing about venue hunting: most of it is just looking. You're not ready to book. You're exploring, comparing, getting a feel for what's available and what prices sit in your budget. If you have to pay to browse or commit to a platform, you're already filtered yourself out.
So Findr lets anyone browse for free. You can scroll through photography studios, event halls, meeting rooms, and creative spaces without signing up for anything. You get a proper sense of the market. The locations, the styles, the hosts, the prices.
When you're ready, you can send up to three booking requests per month as a free user. Most people can find what they need in those three shots. If you're booking regularly or need more flexibility, the Plus and Pro tiers unlock natural-language search, advanced filters, and instant booking on certain venues. But the entry point is zero friction. No credit card. No subscription trap.
What Changed When We Built Search That Actually Listens
The Plus tier search feature came from listening to frustrated renters. They'd type "bright studio with high ceilings near King's Cross" and get results that didn't match. Traditional filters are rigid. You pick "north London," set a price cap, and the algorithm shows you everything that technically fits. You still have to read descriptions and check again.
Natural-language search changes that. You describe what you need in plain English, and the system actually understands the intent. "Minimal white space for video" returns different results than "cosy creative studio." It's not magic. It's just a smarter way to match renter needs to real listings.
We've also added advanced filters for Plus users so you can layer requirements: availability on specific dates, capacity, amenities like parking or kitchens, and host ratings. The idea is simple: the more you narrow down on Findr, the fewer dead-end calls you make.
On the Host Side, Trust Has to Come First
Building a marketplace is easy if you ignore quality. The hard bit is making sure both sides are safe and serious.
Every host on Findr goes through Stripe KYC (Know Your Customer) verification and our internal approval. We're not gatekeeping for gatekeeping's sake. We're checking that people listing spaces actually own or manage them, that they're legitimate, and that they understand what they're getting into. Bad hosts don't launch on Findr.
Hosts pay nothing to list. We make money from a commission split on each booking. So our incentive aligns with theirs: we only win if they get bookings from real, serious renters. That's why we're careful about who can publish.
Once they're approved, hosts can list up to one space for free, or upgrade to Host Pro for up to ten listings, or the Business tier for unlimited. They get calendar sync so their availability updates across Findr, in-app messaging with renters to sort details, and a straightforward admin experience. We hear a lot that hosts appreciate how simple it is to manage bookings without learning a complex CRM.
The Real Win Is Time
The core of Findr isn't a clever algorithm or a unique business model. It's removing the days of back-and-forth that used to happen when you needed a space.
Event organisers are busy. They're coordinating vendors, managing timelines, solving a dozen problems at once. The last thing they need is a three-week email thread about whether a venue has AV equipment. Findr lets you see all of that upfront. You know the space, the host, the price, the terms. You can book instantly on Pro venues or send a request and move on while the host confirms.
We've watched renters come back month after month because it's faster than doing it the old way. We've watched hosts earn money from spaces they'd have left empty otherwise. That's the pattern we're building on.
If you're organising an event or sourcing creative space regularly, the question isn't really whether you need another booking app. It's whether you're willing to spend another afternoon on phone calls and emails to find the right place.
