How Bookr by MRVL Works
Bookr is a booking-page builder that lets independent service professionals create a public link, set their services and availability, then let clients book themselves in one tap. Once you sign up, you generate a unique URL at bookr.app/yourname, configure your services and hours, and share that link with your clients.
The Basic Workflow: Three Steps
When we built Bookr for hair stylists, barbers, and personal trainers, we designed one core workflow. First, you create your profile and set your available time slots and services. Second, you share your public booking link (bookr.app/yourname) via WhatsApp, Instagram, or email. Third, clients visit that link, pick a time and service, and book themselves. No email back-and-forth, no spreadsheet management. As of June 2026, the Free tier supports 20 bookings per month and 5 services, making it ideal for testing the flow before upgrading.
What Happens After a Client Books
Once a booking is confirmed, Bookr stores it in your calendar. The Free tier keeps your bookings offline-first using secure local storage, so you don't lose data if you reinstall the app. On the Pro tier (£8.99 per month), Bookr sends your client an automated reminder 24 hours before, and another 1 hour before their appointment, cutting no-shows. Pro also syncs your Bookr calendar with Google Calendar, so bookings appear alongside your other commitments. The Business tier adds a second layer: it stores client history and notes, so you can remember preferences from past appointments.
Handling Walk-In Clients and Team Bookings
Not every appointment comes through your booking page. Bookr includes a walk-in mode that lets you add a drop-in client with a single tap, marking them as served on the spot. For small teams of 2 to 5 staff, the Business tier (£14.99 per month) lets each team member manage their own calendar. You log in to Bookr on multiple devices, and each staff member sees only their own bookings, while you as the owner see the complete team schedule and can reassign appointments if needed.
Revenue Tracking and No-Show Protection
The Pro tier includes booking analytics: total revenue, your top-booked services, and client retention rates. This tells you which services drive the most income and which clients keep coming back. The Business tier goes further by adding no-show protection. You can collect a card on file from clients at booking time. If they don't show up, Bookr records the no-show but does not charge their card automatically. Instead, you decide whether to charge a deposit via Stripe if you have payment deposits enabled. This protects your revenue without creating friction in the booking experience.
Customising Your Brand and Taking Payments
The Free tier shows Bookr branding on your booking page. The Pro tier lets you add custom branding (your logo, colours, business name) so clients see your brand, not Bookr's. If you want to collect upfront deposits or charge for bookings, the Business tier integrates with Stripe to handle payments securely. Bookr itself is not a payment processor. Stripe processes the payment, handles card security, and deposits money to your bank account. You control when payments are required (e.g. 50% upfront, full payment at booking) and can set different deposit amounts per service.
Why Bookr Differs from Calendly and Square
Bookr is simpler and mobile-first by design. Calendly charges per booking on its free tier and targets sales teams and consultants. Bookr's Free tier covers 20 bookings per month flat, perfect for therapists or tutors with a steady few bookings a week. Square Appointments is a full business ecosystem including payments, invoicing, and inventory. Bookr focuses purely on bookings and integrates with your payment processor of choice. Unlike marketplace apps, Bookr doesn't connect you to new clients. Instead, it hosts a booking page you own and control, and you bring your own audience via your own channels.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bookr free to use?
Yes. The Free tier lets you create a booking page and handle 20 bookings per month across 5 services, with no payment required. Pro (£8.99/mo) adds reminders, Google Calendar sync, and analytics. Business (£14.99/mo) adds team management and no-show protection.
Do my clients have to install an app to book?
No. Clients visit your unique booking link (bookr.app/yourname) in their browser on any device, pick a time, and book. They don't need to download anything or create an account.
Does Bookr charge a fee per booking?
No. Bookr charges a flat monthly subscription (or nothing on the Free tier). Unlike Calendly, there's no per-booking fee. If you take payments, Stripe processes them and takes its standard processing fee (typically 1.4% + 20p per transaction in the UK).
Can I sync Bookr with Google Calendar?
Yes, but only on the Pro tier (£8.99/mo). Once enabled, your Bookr bookings appear automatically in Google Calendar, so you see all your appointments in one place.
What happens if a client doesn't show up?
On the Business tier, you can collect a card on file at booking. If they don't show up, Bookr records the no-show and you can choose to charge a deposit via Stripe. The Free and Pro tiers don't include no-show protection.
Can I manage my team's bookings in Bookr?
Yes, on the Business tier (£14.99/mo). You can add up to 5 team members, each with their own calendar and availability. You see all team bookings in one place and can reassign appointments if needed.
